Every day incredibly fascinating records are donated to the Saskatchewan Archives Board (SAB) in Saskatoon or Regina. Unfortunately, the contextual information is not always included.
For photographs, this means that we often do not know specific details related to the photo, including who or what is shown in the photograph, when the photo may have been taken, or where it was taken. This information provides context for the photographs, making them more useful for researchers and more interesting for the casual visitor.
The Saskatchewan Archives Board decided to celebrate Saskatchewan Archives Week 2010 by posting a selection of photographs with limited or no contextual information on this website, to see if anyone in the general public might help us identify subjects, potential dates, and potential locations. Below each photo we have put all the information that we do have about the item.
If you think you know something about these images, please enter your suggestions (along with a note about why you think that you’re right) in the Comments field at the bottom of each post. You will need to use an email address to post your suggestions, but this will not be visible to anyone but the SAB staff who are monitoring this project, and we will only use it to contact you for further information if required.
